About Department

The Undergraduate department was started in 1993 and post graduate department was established in 2007 with foresight of providing higher education to students of rural part of Nagpur. The department is also recognized as place of higher learning leading to Ph.D. degree.

The Department of Microbiology is dedicated to providing the quality education, through teaching, demonstration and research, required to meet the needs of growing field.  Our post graduate students extensively pursue research in many areas of the Microbiology such as environmental Microbiology, Medical Microbiology, Industrial Microbiology, etc.

• Research culture is inculcated at UG level by providing exposure to advance equipments.
• Department has good infrastructure with several instruments where students enjoy hand on experience of handling equipments.
• Workshop on experiments on molecular biology is organized regularly by the hands of experts.

• Student centric activities are organized such as scientific rangoli competition, student seminar, industrial visit etc.
