Department Of Microbiology
The Undergraduate department was started in 1993 and post graduate department was established in 2007 with foresight of providing higher education to students of rural part of Nagpur. The department is also recognized as place of higher learning leading to Ph.D. degree.
The Department of Microbiology is dedicated to providing the quality education, through teaching, demonstration and research, required to meet the needs of growing field. Our post graduate students extensively pursue research in many areas of the Microbiology such as environmental Microbiology, Medical Microbiology, Industrial Microbiology, etc.
College implement syllabus designed by RTM Nagpur University for both UG and PG courses. This course will explore a general introduction to the field of microbiology and study of amazing diversity of microbial life. Students will also learn about the significant roles microbes play in health, food, industry, agriculture and the environment through theory periods by expert faculties and guest faculties, lab demonstrations and practical experiments. Students will be able to gain, communicative, retain and apply specialized language and knowledge relevant to microbiology. Students will acquire and demonstrate ability in laboratory safety and in routine and specialized microbiological laboratory skills applicable to microbiological research or clinical methods, including observations and analysis.
Students will communicate scientific concepts, experimental results and analytical judgment clearly and quickly. This course also gives job opportunity in lectureship, quality control, scientist in industries as well as in research laboratories, government health department etc.
