About The Department

The department is a component of the Taywade College of Arts, commerce and Sciences. Its faculty members are responsible for teaching Botany to the students. Botany is one of the three Life Sciences departments composing the division of Life Science within our college. The three Departments of the Life Science Division are: Botany, Zoology & Microbiology. The division seeks to provide high-quality education, advanced graduate training as well as public service to the region and the nation. Staff of the department is dedicated towards providing the quality education, through both teaching and research, necessary to meet the needs of this growing field.

Course Information

The department has undergraduate courses. The undergraduate program in Sciences leads to a B.Sc. in Botany. The department is an active participant in several interdisciplinary and interdepartmental programs.

Departmental Feature

The Head of the Department of Botany Dr. Suvarna Patil created a Student’s platform called “Nature club” in 1994.

Students of “Nature Club” of Department of Botany have carried out various activities to learn current advances in the field from the experts to achieve academic excellence and transfer their knowledge to the society. Every year Head of the Department appoints new office bearers for the Nature Club. To keep up with the new developments, the department organizes various programs under Nature Club such as:
